BEEC and NABERS Services
Welcome to CBD BEEC. We are an energy efficiency consultancy specialised in provision of advice regarding upcoming BEEC (Building Energy Efficiency Certificate) for the commercial buildings of different type and nature which are required by the law to disclose their energy efficiency performance in form of a BEEC certificate. We also provide NABERS certification services which will be either part of a BEEC or as a separate NABERS assessment for other types of commercial buildings currently not addressed in the CBD Scheme.
CBD BEEC
If you are the owner of an office building over 2000 m² you are required by the law to present a BEEC to the potential purchaser or lessee at the point of lease or purchase and address it in any advertisement material you use after 1st November 2011. Below comes a brief description of BEEC and NABERS advice and services offered by CBD BEEC with more detailed discussion at the relevant sections of our website. BEEC
A Building Energy Efficiency Certificate or BEEC is a certificate that must be presented to the potential tenant or purchaser of a commercial office building by the building's owner after 1st November 2011. All office buildings of more than 2000 m² NLA will be required to provide a BEEC in order to be able to advertise that office building for lease or purchase based on the requirements of the Energy Efficiency Disclosure Bill 2010 and the Commercial Building Disclosure Scheme or CBD. If a building owner advertises an office building for rent or purchase without a registered BEEC by the national government registry the owner will be subject to civil penalties addressed in the Energy Efficiency Disclosure Bill.

NABERS
NABERS stands for National Australian Built Environment Rating System which is a sustainability rating scheme administered by the NSW Department of Environment Climate Change and Water. NABERS measures energy efficiency, water efficiency, waste management performance and indoor environment quality of existing buildings based on their actual functional performance. Acceptable records of water and energy consumption, waste generation and recycling and working environment conditions of a building are being addressed in a NABERS assessment which will then be scaled against the climate conditions, size and functionality of a building to offer fair comparison between buildings.

Apply for a NABERS Certificate
Here at CBD BEEC we employ the services of experienced NABERS Accredited Assessors to deliver the best service quality in the shortest amount of time and with highly competitive fees. A NABERS assessment will be required as one of the elements of a BEEC so if you apply for a NABERS energy for offices rating you automatically satisfy one of the requirements of achieving a BEEC certificate. Apart from that getting a NABERS certificate for your commercial development has many benefits for the building and the owner corporation.
Mandatory Disclosure
Mandatory Disclosure of Energy Efficiency for buildings is a regulatory framework proposed by the COAG to improve the energy efficiency and reduce the GHG emissions of Australian buildings. Currently the mandatory disclosure of energy efficiency for commercial building (CBD) is in effect and plans and studies are being undertaken to phase in the mandatory disclosure of residential buildings from 2011. We will keep updating this page with the most relevant information on the scheme when they are released.
